Overview

Another thing I was exposed to throughout my time at the AeroDesign Team was the process of manufacturing an RC model aircraft, despite it not being my primary interest. During my time as a general member, I learned how to and got experience with:

• Monokote and shrink-wrap plastics
• Wet layups
• Wet, vacuum-bagged layups
• Carbon fiber tube layups
• Hotwire foam cutting
• Balsa/plywood construction
• 3D printing
• Laser cutting

And have, therefore, gotten experience with:

• Power drills
• Dremels
• Belt sander
• Band saw
• Miter saw
• And more

I have also been involved with different types of model constructions:

• Monocoque fuselages
• Built-up fuselages
• Foam-core wings
• Built-up, composite skin wings
• And more
